Deep in the womb of the Earth, the heartbeat of the drum calls us home. The journey of making your own shamanic drum is an invitation to reconnect with your inner wisdom, ancestral lineage, and the rhythm of the Earth.
Join Briony, Shamanic Craftswoman, for a powerful weekend of creation, reflection, and deep soul work as you birth your own Shamanic Frame Drum in sacred ceremony.
This workshop invites women to gather together in circle, weaving ritual and intention into the ancient art of drum making.
Together, we will journey into the magick and mystery of crafting your own sacred drum, honouring its place in 'Herstory' and deep significance in the path of women through time.
The Journey of Drum Making
This is much more than a craft workshop, it's a journey into yourself. The drum you create will hold the energy of your story, your intentions, and your lineage. As we work with the rawhide and hoop, we will also delve into:
✨ Your Own Birth Story – How you entered the world and how it shapes you.
✨ The Births of Your Children (if applicable) and any creative projects or businesses – Exploring the imprints these experiences have left on your body and spirit.
✨ Your Cyclical Nature – How your womb wisdom and life seasons influence your creative expression.
✨ Ancestral Threads – Honouring those who came before and the wisdom they carry.
Guided by the teachings Briony has received from Jane Hardwicke Collings and the School of Shamanic Womancraft, together we will move through a deeply intuitive process of weaving personal transformation into the creation of your drum.
What to Expect
✨ Day One: The Sacred Preparation & Weaving Your Story
- Opening Circle: Calling in the spirits of the land, our ancestors, and the wisdom keepers. Connect with each other.
- Guided Story Sharing: Recalling your birth story and the births that have shaped you.
- Connecting with Your Drum: Connecting with your hide and hoop with intention, honouring the animal and tree spirits that offer their gifts. Experience a guided drum journey to connect with the spirit of your animal.
- Beginning the Weaving: Binding your energy into the drum with sacred intention and intuitive guidance you will cut out your drum face template and your lacing. It will then be soaked overnight.
✨ Day Two: Birthing Your Drum & Awakening Its Essence
- Completing the Weave: Threading your lacing into the holes of your raw hide to create your drum. Infusing your drum with your story, and essence.
- Closing Circle: Sharing and honouring the journey, setting intentions for your drum’s work in the world.
We will share lunch, refreshments and herbal teas over both days.
All materials are provided, but you can also bring any additional items you might like to add to your drum eg. feathers, crystals etc.
We will also craft a drum beater, you can bring along your own stick for this, but there will also be some available

💎 $750 all inclusive for the weekend (this includes all materials - drum hoop, rawhide, food and teas).
📍 Location: Woonona (venue details upon booking).
📅 TBA 2025 | 10 AM - 5 PM both days.
Only 6 places are available. This is a deeply personal and transformative process, and intimate numbers ensure each woman is held in sacred space.
$250 deposit and payment plans are available.
This workshop is an initiation, a remembering, and a weaving of self into your sacred drum.
What is Shamanic Womancraft?
Shamanic Womancraft is the process of engaging with the transformational experiences of being a woman through the vision, tools and skills of the shamanic perspective – seeing the interconnectedness of everything, and offering a map to inform and guide the transformational journey.
As a Shamanic Craftswoman, Briony uses the compassionate practice of listening, helping you to navigate your inner journey of menstruation, pregnancy, birth, mothering, and beyond. This then enables you to more fully engage with your experience, to ‘own’ it and to understand each situation for what it is, and what it represents on your life journey.
Shamanic Womancraft is a modality created by Jane Hardwicke Collings and The School of Shamanic Womancraft.
